OPERATION HADIN KAI RECORDS UNPRECEDENTED 202 PERCENT WEEK ON WEEK SURGE IN TERRORIST SURRENDERS

The Joint Task Force North East, Operation HADIN KAI, has recorded an unprecedented 202 percent increase in terrorist surrenders within one week, rising from over 50 terrorist commanders, fighters and affiliates in the previous week to over 150 in the current week.

The development points to the pressure being exerted on terrorist formations through sustained intelligence led operations, intensified military action and coordinated kinetic and non kinetic efforts aimed at weakening their capabilities and encouraging voluntary disengagement from terrorism.

The increase in surrenders also affects the ability of terrorist groups to retain personnel within their enclaves. Their freedom of movement, logistics and sustainment mechanisms have continued to come under pressure. The recovery of weapons and ammunition from some of the surrendering elements further points to the effect of sustained military operations on terrorist networks.

The development also reflects the approach adopted by Operation HADIN KAI, which combines intelligence led operations with strategic communication, civil military engagement and other non kinetic efforts. These measures are directed at disrupting terrorist activities and support networks while encouraging fighters and their associates to abandon terrorism.

Strategic communication also remains part of the effort to reach persons willing to disengage from terrorist activities and encourage them to surrender through established channels. All persons who surrender are profiled, documented and handled in accordance with established procedures and applicable laws. The Theatre will continue to build on the current momentum to encourage further disengagement and weaken terrorist recruitment and sustainment mechanisms.

The Military High Command commended the troops for their resilience, discipline and operational effectiveness and urged them to sustain the momentum and continue denying terrorist elements freedom of action across the Theatre.
