CP BODE OJAJUNI CONDUCTS STRATEGIC FAMILIARIZATION TOUR OF SAGAMU AND OWODE EGBA AREA COMMANDS; STRENGTHENS COMMUNITY POLICING AND SECURITY PARTNERSHIPS THROUGH ENGAGEMENTS WITH TRADITIONAL RULERS, GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS, CORPORATE STAKEHOLDERS, AND POLICE PERSONNEL
As part of the Ogun State Police Command’s sustained commitment to strengthening grassroots security, deepening community policing, and fostering collaborative law enforcement, the Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, psc, FCSS, MNIPR, embarked on a strategic familiarization tour of the Sagamu and Owode Egba Area Commands. The visit featured high-level engagements with traditional institutions, local government authorities, corporate stakeholders, community leaders, and police personnel, reaffirming the Command’s commitment to an inclusive, proactive, and partnership-driven approach to public safety.
Accompanied by members of the Command Management Team and the Ogun State Chairman of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Comrade Lawal Abdullahi, the Commissioner commenced the tour with a courtesy visit to the palace of the Akarigbo of Remoland, His Royal Majesty, Oba Babatunde Adewale Ajayi, CFR, Torungbuwa II. During the visit, CP Ojajuni expressed profound appreciation for the monarch’s fatherly guidance and unwavering support for policing initiatives across the Remo axis. He also solicited the continued cooperation of the traditional institution in strengthening security architecture and enhancing peace within the communities.
In his remarks, the Akarigbo commended the professionalism, discipline, and commitment of officers and men of the Ogun State Police Command. He reaffirmed his continuous support for the Command and applauded the cordial relationship existing between the police and the people of Sagamu and its adjoining communities.
The Commissioner thereafter proceeded to the Sagamu Area Command, where he held an interactive session with community stakeholders, members of the Ogun State Hunters Association, and police personnel. He commended the impressive turnout despite the heavy rainfall, describing it as a testament to the stakeholders’ commitment to collective security.
CP Ojajuni further appreciated the invaluable contributions of community leaders and local hunters in intelligence gathering and operational support, noting that their collaboration continues to play a critical role in crime prevention and public safety.
Addressing officers and men of the Area Command, the Commissioner praised their professionalism, dedication, and exemplary conduct, particularly during the recent Lagos–Ogun joint cross-border security operation, code-named Operation Kosaye. He commended their discipline, integrity, and patriotism, urging them to sustain the momentum in ensuring Ogun State remains one of the safest states in the federation.
As part of activities during the visit, the Commissioner officially commissioned the newly renovated Sagamu Divisional Headquarters. The event was graced by the Deputy Inspector-General of Police, DIG Peter Babatunde Ogunyanwo (Rtd), alongside representatives of Lafarge Sagamu, whose Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives significantly contributed to the renovation project. CP Ojajuni commended the company for its unwavering support toward improving police infrastructure and promoting effective policing within the state.
Continuing the tour, the Commissioner paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Chairman of Obafemi Owode Local Government, Ambassador Adesina Ogunshola Lanre, FCPA, and members of his executive cabinet. During the meeting, CP Ojajuni highlighted the strategic importance of the Owode Egba Area Command, describing it as the largest Area Command in Ogun State and a major industrial corridor requiring sustained security attention. He noted that despite the area’s unique security challenges and crime mapping indicators, the Command has remained resolute in protecting lives, property, and critical national assets.
In his response, the Local Government Chairman commended the Ogun State Police Command for its outstanding efforts in maintaining peace and security across the local government area. He assured the Commissioner of the council’s continued support toward initiatives aimed at safeguarding residents and businesses.
The Commissioner also highlighted the significant successes recorded under Operation Kosaye, affirming that the special operation remains fully operational and committed to denying criminal elements any safe haven within Ogun State. He requested the Chairman to convey the Command’s appreciation to the Executive Governor of Ogun State for his unwavering support, which has been instrumental to the success of the operation.
At the Owode Egba Area Command Headquarters, CP Ojajuni received a warm welcome from officers and men of the Command, traditional rulers, community leaders, and heads of sister security agencies. Addressing the gathering, he applauded the robust inter-agency collaboration that has continued to enhance security within the axis. He reiterated the operational mandate of , Operation Kosaye, emphasizing that criminal elements operating across state borders would continue to face coordinated resistance from security agencies. He also appealed for sustained stakeholder cooperation in intelligence sharing and community-based crime prevention.
The familiarization tour concluded with a visit to the TGI Industrial Complex located along the Sagamu Interchange, home to major subsidiaries including WACUB, WASIL, and WACOT. During discussions with the General Manager of Operations, Mr. Miranda Grande, and other senior executives, CP Ojajuni underscored the strong relationship between economic development, employment generation, and crime reduction. He commended the organisation for its impactful Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives and its contributions to socio-economic development within Ogun State.
Responding on behalf of the company, Mr. Grande expressed appreciation to the Commissioner for the visit and commended the Ogun State Police Command for its steadfast commitment to securing the Sagamu Interchange corridor and other strategic locations across the state.
